PVHS BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY COURSES

¤ Computer Applications ãã(Grades 9-12) – Intro to computers, keyboarding, & Microsoft Office software:  Word--letters, reports, tables, etc.; Outlook--email, calendar; Excel--data and charts; Access--intro to database; PowerPoint--presentations. (UC approved to fulfill "g" elective credits)

¤ Communication Technology - ROPãã(Grades 11 & 12, Recommended prerequisite: Comp Apps or teacher approval) – Advanced office skills & study of written communication with a practical focus on the workplace. ROP Skills Certificate.  4th year of English credit for seniors (Non-College Prep)--elective credit for all others. (UC approved to fulfill "g" elective creditsSEE FLYER

¤ Gaming Technology ã(Grades 9-12) -- Explore the history and evolution of play and develop a computer game.  (UC approved to fulfill "g" elective credits)

¤ Website Programming & Design ãã(Grades 10-12 Recommended prerequisite:  Gaming Technology) Webpage coding/programming & design. Learn HTML, CSS formatting, and JavaScript.  (UC approved to fulfill "g" elective credits)

¤ Finance & Accounting ã(Grades 10-12) – Business financial management; financial records, statements, and introduction to accounting including journals & ledgers.

¤ Business 101/Entrepreneurship 101 (Grades 9-12) –Concurrent enrollment with Allan Hancock College; students receive high school & college credit. Measure C of the College and Career preparedness model.

¤ Entrepreneurship ãã(Grades 11-12, Recommended prerequisite: Bus. 101/Enrepr. 101) – A 21st century look into entrepreneurship, principles of business ownership, advertising & marketing. (UC approved to fulfill "g" elective credits)

 ¤ Intervention through Technology (Grades 11 & 12, credit deficient) – Remediation/Credit recovery through PLATO onlime classes, career prep, writing improvement, and technology research. Students have the opportunity to make up failed classes and earn elective units. 

Students may take a CTE Business Technology course to meet
units 
toward their VPA graduation requirement at PVHS
(It does not satisfy the UC/CSU application VPA requirement).

ã Represents courses that articulate with Hancock College (if you attend AHC and take the specified  BUS, CBOT, or CBIS course, you can earn units for these classes taken at PVHS)
